New Design & Name

If you haven’t noticed, The Infinite To-Read Shelf has gotten a new design and has had a name change!

While I absolutely adored my previous theme overall, there were some miniscule things about it that bothered me and that I wanted changed; so I created this theme to combine what I loved about my old theme with some additional new features.

If you’re curious, this is the color scheme the site is based off of:

Please keep in mind that I’m still fine-tuning a few tiny things; but if there’s something that doesn’t look right or if you have a suggestion for the site, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

As for the name, you all know that I absolutely adore theatre. I have been trying to think of a way to incorporate my love for theatre and books into a single blog, and the name Stories on Stage seems to do that perfectly.

Enjoy!

  1. *throws confetti and books* WOOT WOOT!!! THIS IS AWESOME, ZOE! I loved your previous blog name a lot, but this one is amazing, too! And also, your design — the post title font is so curly and sweet and I just love it. <3 Does this mean we'll get to see more posts about your acting life, too? Because that would be so cool! Anyway, congrats, and I can't wait to see what other new things you have in store for us! *hugs*

    1. THANK YOU MEGAN! 😀 You have no idea how happy that makes me that you like it – I adore your designs and it’s pressuring hearing from people who are experts. 😉
And yes…I think that hopefully I’ll be able to post about theatre-ish things too! 😉 Thank you!

  2. A small piece of well-meant criticism: I don’t like the font for your header because it looks so cartoonish, and there are way better script fonts you could use! I hope it doesn’t insult you or anything!

But as for the rest, I love it. The colors are so pretty, and soft, and they remind me of Fangirl! 😀 The social media icons just don’t match, though. Can you edit the colors? If not, I can help!

    1. Thank you so much for your input Shannelle! 😀 I am off to update the header font right now. 😉

(And I’m working on the social icons. Those were just the default ones. 😉 )

  3. It all looks gorgeous! Love the colour scheme, and the header is simple and classy, fits so well with all of it. And love the new title, and yup, it does incorporate your two loves together, and it does make it all that much more personal, whoo! 😀

  4. Zoe!!!!! This is such a fabulous makeover! I love love love the new color scheme you have picked out, but I believe what I love even more is the gorgeous font choices you’ve made! I adore both your title and paragraph fonts – they’re classy + elegant, just like your blog. Congratulations!

  5. The blog looks absolutely incredible Zoe, and loving the new name! It’s so very Zoe like 🙂

The colour scheme is absolutely stunning too, and even the layout on your front page, I love the summary boxes. Oh, I’m so smitten!

    1. Thank you so much Sunny! 🙂

And I agree – when designing a sight, the color scheme is so, so important + really is the base for the design as a whole, you know? (And if you like the use of pictures to create a scheme, here is a fabulous website which does that and which I also got this color scheme from: Desin Seeds). 😀

  6. I definitely love the new theme and the new name! Despite the change, I can still see your personality shining vibrantly in every color. Do you plan to have a URL change in the future, too? Miss you so much, Zoe! Sorry I haven’t been commenting O.O I’m adjusting myself back to my daily commenting rounds 😉

    1. Thank you Faye! 😀 So glad to hear you like it so much. 🙂 And I don’t think so – my URL is pretty generic and isn’t my blog name, so I don’t think I need to change it.

And I’ve missed you too! 😥

    1. THANK YOU ALLIE! So glad you like it!
And OMG! It is totally spring-y! I didn’t notice that at all, but now that you mention it the colors definitely are kind of like pastel Easter egg colors, aren’t they? 😀

  7. I LOVE the new design and the colour scheme is absolutely gorgeous! Did you design it all yourself?? And Stores On Stage is such a cute new name 🙂

  8. AHHHH IT’S GORGEOUS YOU TALENTED ONE! I love love love the colour scheme, it reminds me of Spring time and lying in the grass reading. <3 And the name change is SO you Zoe. Great choice! Must admit I was confused for a second when your page loaded, but then I started flailing hehe. I'm working on a new layout as well for the blog, hopefully it won't take me too long. 😛

  9. GIRL! The new design is so pretty yet simplistic (: I adore the colors, utterly gorgeous. The new name is also perfect and I love how it has a personal connection to you.

  10. OMG! I LOVE THE NEW DESIGN!! It’s so gorgeous and the colors are so beautiful!! <3 Great job on the new design and name, Zoe! 😉 (By the way, I noticed that you have a design section now! If I wanted anyone to design my blog, you would definitely be one of them)

  11. I LOVE THIS NEW DESIGN!!! Sorry for the shouty caps but it’s just my way of expressing my overall general excitement! *snickers* I love the colors and everything about it. There’s nothing like a change to make a blogger feel even more fabulous! 😉

  12. Wow, I totally love your new design. The colors are really pretty ,and the name is wonderful (I love theatre too) I should really consider having you design my site–I don’t really like it right now. When I have more money saved up, you’re going to be my first stop for sure. Thanks for the awesome post!

  13. Zoe! I love your new design AND your new name. The colour palette you chose is SO pretty *.* I remember when I was picking out a colour scheme for my new design and it took me SO LONG to find one that I was 100% happy with, haha.
